false information, real options analysis

One thing has stood out, almost over the same tragedy, all the painful issue of the earthquake in Japan and accidents with nuclear power: the terrible degree of misinformation, if not direct manipulation, which have been view these events by the media. Some excess (the opponents of nuclear energy) and other default (those for) we were hammered from all sides with information mowed, inaccurate and in some cases patently false and directed.

One of the claims I think that most accurately summarizes this comment that was caused by an information agency that claimed that Japan was running out the iodine tablets that are taken for protection against radioactive iodine, and that people were making salt collection iodized sea to take its place. Many newspapers, including The Country , echoed the news, and published as they arrived from the agencies. Thus came striking:

Well, no. After the alarm and concern caused by the news, all proved to be a .... "Judgement" (I would call directly from another form, but ..). As a English resident of Japan stated in an email to the Reader Advocate newspaper El Pais , photo is of a supermarket in China. "

A CHINESE SUPERMARKET! Nobody had bothered to check, for the hundreds of thousands of rounds to be given the photograph by the publishing world that labels and photo ads are in Chinese, not Japanese? And also do not buy salt by the case of filing with iodine, but because it seemed that the sea salt was contaminated. Is not nothing about it squeaked ANYONE?

This should cause that citizens once aware of the importance of critical thinking and proven knowledge in dealing with the facts, if you want to reach an understanding, even for a simple approach-of reality.

contrast Should not everything that comes through the gutter width of media? Should not we be more critical of the categorical statements, with pompous statements, with the "immutable truths" by political gurus, economic, social and / or educational?

Should not carry off with the seers, astrologers, quack, witches and shamans and all the trash that we try to sneak their hallucinations without evidence to support their outlandish claims AND WITHOUT CONTRAST OR SHOW PROPERLY?

The answer is yes, of course, and as of now.

Shoveled Snow And My Finger Are Swelled Up

Our society still recognizes and values the lives dramatically and heroically. As the Chilean miners faced the distressing condition, or the defense of a woman at risk of their lives, or the man who saves his family from drowning and eventually dies powerless. Every day around the world pay tribute heroism benefactor. All these are heroes who serve a purpose regardless of personal sacrifice, teach us how to face adversity with hope and strength. If these are models desirable, then, why the media culture and the government itself continually extol the opposite? Narcissism, hedonism, escape the suffering and effort, the satisfaction of all personal desire in the most immediate and non-stop in commitments, the inability for the waiver, ease frustration.

One of the characteristics of the contemporary is the assessment of daily life, which entails the rejection of that life heroic is the best way to live a fulfilling life. This is well and good so, but one thing is the plurality of paths to personal and quite another consideration that live everyday as a great good means to serve only their own desire, because even as most common condition exists heroic. As the parent unemployed six months ago that rises every day and with determination and without wavering, to spend most of their time to find work, and back home the door makes my troubles to be able filled with theirs. This is a hero, as is the woman alone with children without special studies, to be resolved their education and their needs most, and without the almost in poverty. These and many other attitudes are certainly not elected but it faced from the heroism.

Is not the greatest hero who sacrificed his life for another? Thus, why do we celebrate as a victory abortion? , what does end the life of a man without giving him time to make it what it is? Okay, nobody can be forced to heroism, and if the mother is at risk of death should be able to choose your life or that of her unborn child. But we do not refer to this unique circumstance, insufficient, but which proves the over a hundred thousand abortions a year where there is risk, but irrelevance, discomfort, the more effort. Birth to a son is fortunately a heroic gesture, but every time I look more. Take care and educate them well, in addition to give birth to, and nearly so in the circumstances. So why not celebrate this attitude in place of flight?

A society that lives in such contradictions can not future. A society that admires the heroism and, in turn, brought up to run from it just unresponsive to any difficulty or challenge.

confirm the existence of a habitat

GIRL INDEMARES 0211, executed in the Gulf of Cadiz on board the research vessel "Cornide de Saavedra", from 10 February to 7 March 2011 in areas of the fishing area of the Labyrinth and mud volcanoes Hesperides field, has collected samples of sediment, benthic and demersal fauna, and physical and chemical characteristics of the water column at 362 sampling points.

Bivalve Solemyidae family found in areas with emission of some mud volcanoes studied, in this case the volcano's summit Anastasya to 457 m deep.

direct techniques have been used as the gravity corer, box corer dredging and demersal trawl fishing gears such as beam trawler or beam trawl and demersal fishing gear Baka and indirect techniques such as ADCP, CTD and rosette the ocean. All these multidisciplinary methodologies have provided data that will allow study in great detail the biodiversity of the habitats associated with seeps in deepwater Gulf of Cadiz.

benthic trawl Dredge whose mouth is plugged by muddy gap typical mud volcanoes. You can see the greenish-gray mud with small ridges of different sizes.
Preliminary results confirmed the presence of communities associated with gas emissions (Habitat 1180 of the Habitats Directive) in Anastasya volcanoes, Almazan and Aveiro, which include species of bivalves that could be new to science. You have found the presence of other habitat types that are included in the Habitats Directive and OSPAR, such as reefs (Habitat 1170) facies of the gorgonian Callogorgia verticillata spp Acanthogorgia and hard substrates in areas with carbonate (mainly of fireplaces and tiled) or bamboo coral Isidella elongata on muddy bottoms. Other habitats found during the campaign, were the deep aggregations of sponges, both hard and soft money, or megafauna communities excavator Pennatulacea and soft bottoms of the volcanoes in the area of the Labyrinth. Similarly, by taking sediment samples have confirmed that many of the mountains of mud volcanoes studied are due to the existence of gaps mud on top of these morphologies.

Tessalon Perles Make Cough Worse

1180 Journal Campaign 0211

We have already begun drafting the Campaign Journal GIRL-0211 INDEMARES , we are doing in the Gulf of Cadiz. We will be at sea between 10 February and 7 March, aboard the research vessel Cornide Saavedra.

If you want you can follow our private ro daily activities, living with us the emotions of a multidisciplinary scientific expedition, in which there are great challenges to face. If you want to know a little more than what we're looking at the bottom of the sea, you can click on the tab DISCLOSURE and find, among others, a short article with several photos and charts, entitled "Our friends bacteria" in the can see some photos and graphics that will help you understand the importance of the habitat under consideration.

To be issued represent more than 20 researchers and technical support from the English Oceanographic Institute and several universities and research organizations, among which the University of Málaga by the number of researchers to embark and the level of involvement in the project.

For the first time we have on board with a degree in Environmental Science and Master in Science Journalism, Andrew Blanca Alfaro, who is our correspondent on board we will be broadcasting his chronic daily from the ship. With its chronic and technical comments of the Head of Campaign, Dr. Luis Miguel Fernández Salas, as well as comments and anecdotes that make us reach this EDITORIAL , whose head is the IP of the Project, Dr. Victor Diaz del-Rio English, we will compose the JOURNAL OF CAMPAIGN in a pleasant and dynamic. In this way we believe we can offer you some texts, accompanied by photographs, that will be fun to read and I documented our activities on board.

The first stories, and news Diario de Cádiz and Voz de Jerez inform us of the pleasant surprises that are finding scientists to have detected the presence of species that had not recorded in previous surveys, as Pennatulacea, Leptometra and pogonóforos, contained in the manuals of the protected species of the Natura 2000 network. A major finding of which will benefit everyone and that, surely, will encourage some degree of Protection of this rich biodiversity. C'mon

and segirnos on our adventure at sea! ..... you will not regret.

All, moreover, quite evident, as the handwriting is nothing but an amusement games, with no relationship to reality, no scientific basis and often naive and simple that it borders on comical.

Well, that. Here the famous little note, and below handwriting analysis of Don Jose Maria.
